<p><b>We provide meaningful careers that connect people with purpose.</b></p><p></p><p><b>We are united by a common purpose of providing the best and safest care; and by our shared values of Care, Truth, Participation, Compassion and Dignity. </b></p><p></p><p><b>Netcare invites you to be part of our journey.</b></p><p></p><p></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p>Advanced Midwife<br />Job Summary:<br />To provide high quality care to women throughout their pregnancy journey in a safe and efficient manner through the provision of antenatal clinics for women at risk of complications or requiring close monitoring; to work autonomously within agreed guidelines, demonstrating leadership skills and providing education to other health professionals and students as appropriate.<br /><br />Responsibilities:<br />• The management of women who are at low, moderate and high risk of complications in pregnancy, including those with obstetric and medical conditions.<br />• The provision of advanced ultrasound scanning and Doppler assessment.<br />• To identify women at risk of preterm labour and implement strategies to prevent premature birth.<br />• To act as a referral point for midwives caring for women with complex needs.<br />• To develop and deliver educational sessions on various aspects of maternity care to student midwives and other health professionals.<br />• To participate in research projects and service evaluations as required.<br />• To take part in the on-call rota as necessary and be responsible for the effective functioning of the Antenatal Clinic during normal working hours.<br /><br />Qualifications:<br />Essential:<br /><br />• Registered as a Midwife with the Nursing &amp; Midwifery Council (NMC).<br />• A current NMC registration number.<br />• A degree/diploma in Midwifery and evidence of post-registration experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.<br />• Experience in the provision of antenatal care.<br />• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<br />• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.<br />• Highly motivated with excellent time management skills.<br />• Proven ability to prioritise competing workloads and meet deadlines.<br />• Demonstrates initiative and problem solving skills.<br />• Evidence of recent practice in the use of ultrasound scanning.<br />• Previous experience in teaching and mentoring students would be advantageous but not essential.</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left !important">Join the team committed to providing the best and safest health and care.</p>
