Job Description

RCL FOODS is searching for an Analyst: Condition Monitoring to join our Sugar Team based in Malelane . The main objective of this position is to ensure effective condition monitoring of pump stations to attain asset longevity, performance, reliability and operational cost reduction. To identify non-conformances to specification and operational parameters of electrical motors, pumps, electrical switchgear, transformers and HT lines. To support the PM Planning process on all current functions.

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge and Skill Trade Tested Artisan (Millwright/Electrician/Mechanical) with a minimum of a N2 qualification.
  • Computer skills are essential (Excel, Word and MS Projects).
  • Familiarity with RCA, RCM and Condition Based Monitoring practices would be an added advantage (Maintenance Philosophies).
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance System would be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Project Planning and Scheduling including Project Management Software.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Stock Management Cost and Stock Management SAP and SAP PM Analytical Abilities.
  • Understanding of cane inbound value chain, processes and key performance measures.
  • Planning and preventative maintenance experience including License, COF and PDP scheduling.
  • Record-keeping framework.
  • Application of SHE systems and policies.
  • Business risk management and Safe Operations.
  • Incident and Accident Investigation Experience and Training.
  • 3 Years Condition Based Monitoring Experience.
  • 2 years RCA.
  • 2 Years’ experience in SAP environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Condition monitoring of pump stations in terms of heat, noise and vibration of pumps and motors.
  • Thermal imagery of cabling and components of switchgear indicating hot connections or out of specification temperatures.
  • Record operating pressure of pumps to be used in asset management information system.
  • Laser alignment of motors and pumps.
  • Vibration analysis of pumps and motors to detect latent defects or out of specification operation of rotating elements and bearings.
  • Ensure correct operational monitoring instrumentation in place in pump stations.
  • Ensure tagging of assets is in place in pump stations on pumps, motors and switchgear.
  • Monitor effectiveness of preventative maintenance schedules on pump stations and provide improvement solutions.
  • Assisting in the continuous improvement, optimisation (schedule reviews) and implementation of preventive maintenance tactics (usage based, time-based etc.) via processes including RCM and other failure analysis methods.
  • To ensure effective administrative systems and procedures are being maintained and improved.
  • Assisting the further implementation, optimisation and management of the Asset Management Improvement Program (AMIP).
  • Support PM Planner with planning of maintenance activities.
  • Gathering PM Equipment information, data loading, link resources/technical objects.
  • Further expansion of current Function location creation and Equipment level creation per field level.
  • Monitor PM progress, update PM progress and make recommendations.
  • Upkeep of Asset register ensuring all Agric equipment on register per field/farm/area.
  • Assessing and confirming asset numbering process correspond on SAP PM as well as further roll out in COD.
  • Support PM planner and Artisan teams with RCA on major failures to ensure the actual cause of failures are engineered out.
  • Identify specific safety hazards that are encountered in the performance of the CBM duties.
  • Monitor use of lock-out/tag-out procedures and general safe working practices in pump stations.
  • Determine and include QA/QC requirements on jobs.
