The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance, operations, and profitability of multiple retail locations. This role drives commercial outcomes, ensures operational excellence, and leads store teams to deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capability, commercial acumen, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment. Area Managers can be based across South Africa and Namabia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple store locations
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor performance and compliance
- Ensure consistent execution of visual merchandising and brand standards
- Commercial Performance
- Drive sales growth, profitability, and KPIs
- Analyse financial data and implement corrective actions
- People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers
- Support recruitment and performance management
- Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Promote a customer-centric culture
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Compliance & Risk
- Ensure adherence to policies and legal requirements
- Maintain health and safety standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Secondary education (or equivalent); a business-related qualification is advantageous
- Proven experience managing multiple retail locations or leading multi-site operations
- Strong working knowledge of retail operations, financial management, and performance metrics
- Proficiency in standard business systems and Microsoft Office tools
