Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, and other drinks.
- Ensure beverages are prepared consistently according to company standards.
- Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Operate and maintain coffee machines and related equipment.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Handle cash and point-of-sale transactions accurately where required.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all beverage preparation and service areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and safety regulations.
- Assist with merchandising and display of products.
- Support the broader catering team as required.
- Arrange displays of bar stock and glassware.
- Serve snacks or food items to people seated at the bar.
- Collect payments for drinks and balance cash receipts.
- Use machines that automatically mix and dispense drinks.
- Coordinating beverage requirements with other supervisory staff.
- Planning bar menus.
- Assisting with advertising and promotions.

Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Barista training or certification will be advantageous.
- Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a Barista, food service, hospitality, or retail role.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage trends.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills.
- Be able to work quickly and safely.
- Must be able to use simple arithmetic, follow directions, remember orders, read, and write.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts when required.
