This is a three‑year, SAICA-accredited Training Outside Public Practice (TOPP) articles experience that broadens your commercial exposure, provides the building blocks for your technical foundation and places you at the centre of business decision‑making – far beyond traditional audit‑only routes. The Programme takes trainees into the heart of our high‑performance investment business – offering experience in a non‑audit environment and the chance to work on meaningful projects that influence internal controls, business growth and product decisions. Trainees rotate through teams where finance, strategy and decision-making intersect, engaging with up to six business areas including Investments, Institutional Clients, Retail Product Development, Retail Client Experience and Retail Operations Analytics. They gain exposure to financial reporting, risk oversight, internal controls and business analysis. The programme includes eligibility for a three-month placement with Orbis in Vancouver, Bermuda or London. Trainees develop critical communication skills, connect financial insight with business strategy, and build a professional network across Allan Gray, Orbis and extended business areas.

The CA Programme is designed for candidates who think critically, enjoy challenging work and problem-solving. It offers a three-year fixed-term contract with rotations in finance, assurance, and other departments. Post-articles employment opportunities are not guaranteed, but the programme helps identify strengths and build networking relationships. Trainees may also apply for a secondment to Orbis. The programme provides ITC/APC examination support, study leave, and relocation assistance for those living more than 100km from Cape Town.
