This includes caring for the patient, her possessions, documentation and the control and economical use of stock and equipment in the ward.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>ROLE SUMMARY</b></p><ul><li>The Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary will be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the direct and/ or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.</li><li>This includes caring for the patient, her possessions, documentation and the control and economical use of stock and equipment in the ward.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES</b></p><p><br /><b>CONSISTENCY OF CARE</b></p><p><br /><b>Governance, quality and risk management</b><br />• Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment that is free from medico-legal hazards.<br />• Adhere to Netcare medical waste management principles and all other waste management principles.<br />• Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act.<br />• Report potential/actual risks identified.<br />• Ensure all stock is well controlled .Responsible for ensuring correct use, cleaning and storage of equipment.<br />• Report equipment needing repair or replacement to sister-in-charge.<br />• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.</p><p></p><p><b>Patient care</b><br />• Practice patient care according to his/her Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities.<br />• Monitor vital signs of patients.<br />• Execute all procedures according to hospital standards.<br />• Carry out all departmental related duties as assigned by Supervisors.<br />• Practice the principles of infection prevention and all standard precautions.<br />• Promote and maintains good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.<br />• Attend handover of report from the Shift leader.<br />• Refer any queries to the sister-in-charge.</p><p></p><p><b>TRANSFORMATION OF OUR SOCIETY</b></p><p></p><p><b>Teamwork</b><br />• Actively participate as a member of a team to achieve goals.<br />Personal and professional development<br />• Active involvement in own professional development to maintain a satisfactory level of skill and knowledge.<br />• Keep up to date with Netcare’s evolving policies and procedures.<br />• Assume responsibility for maintaining competence in CPR / BLS.</p><p></p><p><b>Build and maintain stakeholder relationships</b><br />• Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial.<br />• Develop collaborative relationships to help accomplish work goal.</p><p></p><p><b>SKILLS PROFILE</b></p><p><br /><b>EDUCATION</b><br />Essential<br />• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary.<br />• Compliance with the SANC Scope of Practice for an Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary and all applicable Health Care Legislations.</p><p></p><p>Preferred<br />• A grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.</p><p></p><p><b>WORK EXPERIENCE</b><br />Preferred<br />• Relevant experience in the nursing discipline.</p><p></p><p><b>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</b><br />In the event of any physical or psychological limitation that may impair the employee’s ability to perform the required job function, the employee must consult the employer for reasonable accommodation.<br /><br /><b>WORKING CONDITIONS</b><br />• Professional flexibility in working hours, including night duty and weekend shifts<br />• Will interact with internal and external customers through several different means.</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left !important">Join the team committed to providing the best and safest health and care.</p>
