This role supports the Head of External Reporting and ultimately the GM of Finance with:
- The following in relation to key financial performance indicators(KPIs):
- Governance over group financial KPIs including the maintenance of definitions and ensuring group wide alignment and application. Including developing processes for the governance and monitoring of key performance indicators to enable consistent and accurate reporting.
- Production of, inter alia, the following financial reports:
- Old Mutual Limited financial results for disclosure to the market, including the presentations for the Group CEO and CFO. Managing the relationship with the service providers that design the results pack.
- Production and/or support of all relevant SENS issued, AGM deliverables, road show presentations, and annual ratings agency reviews.
- Key point person in the relationship with the Cluster finance team for the respective allocated cluster. Review of Cluster information for interim and year end results. This includes providing input for the quarterly reporting packs to the Board and integrated reporting suite for the respective allocated cluster.
- Production of content and collection of data points through the coordination with the segment and other central teams, primarily through Workiva.
- Ensure that integrity, clarity, and controls of the information disclosed are in place.
- Assist in the production of the integrated reporting suite, including the integrated report, with respect to financial results.
- Production of quarterly results pack for OML Exco.
- Develop direct reports to improve their understanding and delivery of the internal and external reporting.
- Works in collaboration with other Group Finance teams as well as Segment Finance and Strategy teams to deliver robust financial results and aligned messaging to the key stakeholders, internally and externally:
- Exco and the Board
- Investors
- Regulators
- Customers
- Employees
- Intermediaries
- Communities
- Sponsors
- Keep abreast of any changes in JSE reporting requirements, Companies Act, and any other relevant legislation.
- Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place and works in collaboration with internal audit for financial reporting controls.
Work in collaboration with the team on any adhoc deliverables in accordance with Group Reporting & Insights priorities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- CA(SA) with minimum 7 years’ relevant post-qualification experience
- A background within the Financial Services industry is required, with experience in the Insurance industry preferable
- Listed company experience including an understanding of JSE requirements
- Experience with external publication process
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Highly skilled in report writing and detailed reviews of written submissions
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and translate that into simple language that any stakeholder can understand
- Ability to start from a blank page with strong skillset to design and implement new processes
- Able to work constructively under pressure
- Self-motivated, team player with a desire to learn new skills and grow
- Ability to multi-task and focus on detailed problems, with the tenacity to drive issues until resolved
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a broader team
- Ability to work in a hybrid setting with a dual team location

About the Role
The Group Reporting and Insights (GRI) function is responsible for delivering all internal and external reporting across the Group. This is achieved through close coordination with Group Financial Control, Group Actuarial, and Cluster finance teams, supported by Treasury, Financial Markets, and Strategic Planning and Analysis. The team is accountable for preparing monthly and quarterly reporting for Exco and the Board, delivering the interim and year-end results processes, and producing the annual reporting suite. GRI also works closely with Investor Relations to support external market messaging during results periods, as well as ongoing engagement with investors and analysts. This role reports to the Head: External Reporting and will be accountable to manage Group financial results, SENS announcements, internal performance reporting and assisting in the production of the integrated reporting suite.
