Facilities Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain the functionality, safety, and efficiency of building systems and infrastructure.
• Perform routine inspections and address maintenance requests.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely repairs and compliance with safety standards.
• Manage tools and inventory.
• Support facility upgrades.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
• Perform plumbing maintenance and repairs.
• Carry out daily maintenance and fault finding checks.
• Ensure buildings are maintained to standard.
• Complete job cards for unscheduled maintenance jobs.
• Sign off completed job cards and return them to the Facilities Service Desk.
• Report maintenance requests to the Facilities Service Desk.
• Assist with ad hoc related duties as required.
• Perform diesel filling of generators.
• Work overtime and standby as required.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Plumbing Certificate or Trade Qualification in Plumbing.
• Minimum of 3–5 years' relevant plumbing and general maintenance experience.
• Valid Code 08 (EB) driver's licence.

• General building maintenance experience.

• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Willingness to work overtime and participate in the standby roster.
