Legal Advisor (In-House) – Private Investment Entity
Introduction
Crescent Star Pty Ltd is a privately held investment company based in Umhlanga, Durban.
The company employs a team of highly qualified professionals dedicated to advancing its internal business objectives.
As a private, non-listed entity, this position offers the opportunity to focus exclusively on the company’s own strategic and operational matters within a professional, small-office environment.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Legal Advisor to provide comprehensive legal support on day-to-day business matters.
Note: Crescent Star Pty Ltd is a non-listed private entity and does not have a public website or listings.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be an experienced legal professional offering a broad range of general legal advisory and business support services.
General Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day legal advisory support to management and staff.
- Develop, implement, and maintain legal policies and procedures to ensure effective compliance.
- Advise on legal matters involving regulations, legislation, and corporate governance.
- Draft, review, and execute contracts, agreements, and other legal documentation.
- Conduct independent legal research, analysis, and prepare detailed reports.
- Interpret legal implications of business decisions and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain consistent communication with management, staff, and service providers to ensure lawful and efficient operations.
- Assist in the protection and safeguarding of company assets.
- Provide expert business advisory services and engage directly with service providers where required.
- Oversee legal document management and internal administrative processes.

Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience as an Attorney or Legal Practitioner.
- Relevant legal qualification (LLB required).
- LLM, BCom Law, MBA, Master’s degree, or similar postgraduate qualification advantageous.
- Admitted Attorney, Advocate, Legal Advisor, Corporate Lawyer, or Legal Counsel.
- Valid license to practice law (where applicable).
- Proven experience in corporate and regulatory law.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- Self-motivated with sound analytical and managerial capabilities.
