Job Description:
Machine Operation Check production plan for the shift. Perform line clearance at start of shift. Ensure sufficient inventory levels of raw material prior to starting shift. Ensure the machine is in good working order. Collect wrapping paper from stores, place in machine and set. Adjust the weight settings on screen according to specification. Ensure the correct boxes are used according to specification. Input batch number, expiry date and manufacturing date into machine. Conduct a test run on a single packet to ensure printing is according to specification and record on SIC sheet. Contact maintenance for assistance in the event of a problematic test run. Start the machine to proceed with packaging. Weigh ten packets every 30 minutes to ensure weight compliance to specification. Empty product into bucket for rework in the event of weight being out of specification. Ensure boxes are made while machine is in operation. Quality Ensure alignment of all work process to the required quality standards. Proactively identify continual improvement opportunities. Action agreed quality initiatives. Implement corrective actions identified within specified time. Health and Safety Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and standards. Wear the required PPE all the time. Ensure the right safety equipment is available and use it in a safe and correct manner. Accountable for all safety equipment issued. Report all safety hazards, accidents and incidents to relevant parties. Ensure work area is clean at the start of and the end of shift. Communication Prepare adequately and participate actively and constructively in meetings. Proactively provide input leading to improvement or resolution of problem areas identified. Understand and live the values of the organization.
Qualification Requirements:
- Grade 12 Basic literacy and numeracy N3 – N6 (Mechanical and/or Electrical) - Desirable
Experience Requirements:
- 2-year Experience in the same roles/positions - Essential FMCG/Production experience - 2-3 Years – Essential
Skills and Competencies:
- Communication- written & verbal Compliance requirements Computer literacy Negotiation Planning & Organising Problem solving Time Basic literacy and numeracy FMCG environment in production planning role 5 years
Working Conditions:
- Extra work hours required at month end, financial year-end and at management discretion. Pressurised environment Understanding of Food Safety Management, Quality Management Systems and Food Manufacturing Processes
