Minimum Requirements:
5 years Cement (product / process) and Quality experience 3 years People Leadership experience XRF, Online belt analyser and Physical testing equipment’s and procedures SANS 50197-1 and 2, SANS 1841, SANS 50196, Sulfur analyser experience, SAP ERP Microsoft Office Industrial Control Software (SCADA) Performance Management System (ESS) ISO EMS 14001:2015, QMS 9001:2015 and OHS45001 2018 systems Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996(MHSA) Good communication skills at all levels

Duties and Responsibilities:
KEY OUTPUTS: Micro- and macro-economic awareness - Remain up to date with macro and micro-economic conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment and the industry in general, to anticipate and plan for circumstances that may influence the development of the functional strategic plan Business Intelligence and trend analyses - Collate integrated scorecards / dashboards for work areas, operations and business groups. Create reports. Perform trend analysis and internal audits. Functional process optimisation - Engage with subordinates to encourage and recognise improvement. Approve innovations and provide the means for implementation. Implement operations effectiveness model and practice. Develop document control systems and practices to support innovations. Identify departmental improvement initiatives - Identify recurring problems in the organisation and derive creative solutions involving team members or using own vocational knowledge and experience. Assist with Projects / special investigations / reports, operating efficiency studies, feasibility studies that will improve product quality, technical standards and improve QA services to factory customers. Oversee Policy Management - Ensure that all relevant policies, procedures and best practices (relating to QA) are in place and are aligned with group policies and procedures. Ensure that documents are distributed / available and that staff knowledge and understanding is frequently assessed. Quality Assurance Management - Manage product specification monitoring and set optimal raw mix and cement control parameter. Manage technical aspect of manufacturing, sampling and testing process. Implement Product Performance Management Systems with early warning systems and reporting of product and process performance. Ensure lab equipment meets operational requirements ISO management system - Monitor and measure integrated ISO Management System with a specific focus on quality. Develop, implement and maintain the Integrated Risk Management system with the focus on the ISO 9001 and ensure follow ups on recorded deviations of Monitor and Measurement and Talk Topics are actioned / implemented. Facilitate or conduct Quality Awareness training when required. Schedule and conduct internal quality management system audits. Assis hosting of external audits. Implement cost control systems - Implement standardised budget control systems. Promote team to minimise waste and enforce a culture of short intervals of control. Departmental and Plant Level Working Capital Management - Monitor and measure monthly / quarterly / annual actual vs. budget within element and process cost and produce variance analysis and interpretations. Competency Management - Ensure ongoing competency assessment program to establish developmental needs within the department according to IDs. Provide training where competency gaps exist. Performance Management - Conduct scheduled Performance reviews and lead the team to sustainable and high-performance levels through mentoring and coaching. Employee Relations - Create a positive working environment and manage conflict.
