Job Advert Summary:
To help ensure that Ready-Mix produces the most economical concrete that meets all relevant SANS and SANRAL specifications. To drive product innovation, quality excellence, customer satisfaction and cost optimisation while minimising operational and product performance risks
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience in quality assurance and quality control within the ready-mix concrete, construction materials, civil engineering or related industry Concrete mix design development and optimization Quality Management Systems (QMS) implementation and maintenance SANS and SANRAL specifications and testing standards Laboratory testing and quality control processes Compliance audits and regulatory requirements Technical support to operations and customers Supervisory or management experience in a quality environment Valid Code B driver's license and own reliable transport Willingness to travel between operations and customer sites Ability to represent the company during audits, industry forums and customer engagements Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to influence operational teams and drive a quality-focused culture Strong report writing and presentation skills Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions Registration with a recognized professional body will be advantageous Medically fit to enter operational and industrial environments
Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance and Quality Control Management Develop, implement, maintain and improve Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems across all Ready-Mix operations. Monitor quality performance indicators and implement corrective and preventative actions where required. Conduct internal quality audits and ensure compliance with company quality procedures and standards. Technical and Product Quality Governance Ensure all products comply with SANS, SANRAL, customer and contractual specifications. Act as the technical authority on concrete quality, product performance and material suitability. Review, approve and communicate technical reports, test certificates and quality documentation. Concrete Mix Design and Product Development Develop and optimize concrete mix designs to achieve quality, durability and cost objectives. Evaluate new materials, technologies and product opportunities. Drive product innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the business. Laboratory and Quality Systems Management Ensure all laboratory testing is conducted in accordance with approved methods and industry standards. Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintained. Maintain the integrity, accuracy and traceability of all quality records and test results. Customer Technical Support and Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary technical liaison between the business and customers. Investigate and resolve quality-related complaints, product failures and technical queries. Provide technical guidance and support to operations, sales teams and customers. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with all applicable quality, regulatory and industry requirements. Liaise with auditors, certification bodies and regulatory authorities. Identify, assess and mitigate quality-related operational and business risks
