Job Description

Job Title

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate and timely bank reconciliations across all company accounts.
  • Manage and monitor daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
  • Prepare and maintain annual and monthly budgets in collaboration with department heads.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
  • Compile and submit bank applications, including credit facilities and other financial instruments.
  • Prepare and submit Employees' Tax (PAYE) returns in accordance with SARS requirements.
  • Calculate, prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
  • Calculate provisional tax and prepare supporting workings (submission handled separately).
  • Track and reconcile intercompany transactions and ensure accurate allocation across entities
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and process monthly depreciation journals.
  • Process and review general ledger journals, ensuring accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
  • Assist with internal and external audit preparations and provide relevant supporting schedules.
  • Monitor and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Maintain up-to-date financial records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support the Group CFO with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • SAIPA qualification (registered and in good standing with SAIPA)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 2–3 years' relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Xero accounting software (essential).
  • Proficient in SimplePay payroll software (essential)
  • Hands-on experience with SARS eFiling (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of South African tax legislation (SARS compliance)
  • Experience in a multi-entity or group accounting environment advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (written and spoken)
  • Valid driver's licence advantageous
