About the Role: Supervise maintenance activities to ensure hotel facilities are operational and safe.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, civil, painting, kitchen, laundry, and air-conditioning systems
- Allocate and monitor maintenance work orders using PRAGMA system
- Provide standby support and respond to urgent breakdowns
- Escalate critical failures and provide progress updates
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all activities
- Supervise on-site contractors per approved Scope of Work and SLAs
- Inspect and approve completed work before sign-off
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules and equipment registers
- Monitor contractor performance on preventative maintenance
- Resolve faults promptly and cost-effectively
- Identify training gaps and conduct on-the-job coaching
- Reinforce service excellence and guest-focused behaviour
- Manage stock of spares and materials, maintaining records
- Participate in monthly stock takes, ensuring variances remain below 1%
- Build relationships with hotel managers and client teams
- Communicate clearly with contact centres, security, and duty management
Qualifications:
- Matric or NTC 3/4/5 (Technical or Skilled qualification)
- Minimum 3–4 years’ hands-on experience in building, electrical, mechanical, or facilities maintenance
- Proven experience supervising technical or maintenance teams
- Preferred hotel, resort, or large-site maintenance experience
Requirements:
- Sound knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance
- Fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
- Safe use of hand and power tools
- Computer literacy (MS Office and maintenance systems)
