Supervises all aspects of hygiene and safety within the perishables department. Manages stocks in order to maximise gross margins and profits. Ensures that operating standards are maintained
Requirements

- Must be reliable and accountable
- Grade 12
- Suitable candidate will go through competency-based assessment
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards are maintained (floor and back-up)
- Ensure that security procedures are adhered to
- Ensure that packing, stacking and storage standards are adhered to
- Conduct regular quality checks, ensure that stock is rotated. Damaged/expired stock is removed
- Check temperatures and monitor/maintain the cold chain
- Prevent wastage/shrinkage/damages
- Complete all relevant administration/documentation
- Identify out of stocks/over stocks and communicate problems to manager
- Ensure that equipment is maintained in accordance with rules and regulations
- Communicate effectively with employees, management, customers and suppliers
- Physically demanding
- Temperature variances
- Handle challenging customers
- Need to be constantly available
- Pressurized/fast paced environment with a variety of demands simultaneously
