About the Role

We are looking for a passionate, service-driven, and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our University Canteen team. The successful candidate will oversee daily food service operations, lead catering staff, maintain high food quality standards, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for students, staff, and visitors.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the university canteen and catering services.
• Lead, motivate, and manage catering staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Monitor food preparation, presentation, and service to ensure quality and consistency.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
• Assist with menu implementation and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
• Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and performance.
• Conduct regular quality checks and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Support stock control, ordering, receiving, and inventory management processes.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment at all times

Skills and Competencies

• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Experience in staff management, stock control, and customer service.
• Computer literacy, including MS Office.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Relevant qualification in Hospitality, Catering Management, Food Service Management, or a related field will be advantageous.
• Minimum 2-3 years' supervisory experience within a catering, hospitality, food service, or campus dining environment.
