This role requires a technically strong and delivery-focused individual who can translate business needs into scalable, high-quality data solutions while ensuring delivery teams are positioned for success.

Operating at the intersection of business, data and technology, the role plays a key part in strengthening OMIG’s data capabilities and enabling more informed decision-making across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Trusted With

Product Delivery & Value Creation

  • Ensure delivery outputs are aligned to business intent and support positive stakeholder experiences.

Backlog Excellence & Team Enablement

  • Maintain a high-quality, prioritised, and delivery-ready backlog.
  • Ensure delivery teams are set up for success through clear requirements, refined stories, and proactive removal of ambiguity.
  • Work closely with engineering, data, and business teams to enable effective collaboration and delivery alignment.

Data Analysis & Technical Delivery

  • Perform hands-on data analysis using SQL to support story mapping, feature refinement, and validation of requirements.
  • Work directly with data to resolve ambiguity, improve clarity, and support robust decision-making.
  • Contribute to scalable and forward-looking data solutions that enhance the organisation’s data capabilities.

Data Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Embed data governance principles within delivery processes, including data quality, lineage, and ownership standards.
  • Validate data logic and outputs throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure integrity and consistency.
  • Support the implementation of best practices in data management and governance.

Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and delivery outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in backlog quality, refinement practices, and delivery effectiveness.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing delivery environment.

Who you are

You are a technically capable and analytically minded professional who enjoys solving complex data challenges and enabling teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You bring:

  • A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years’ experience in a Product Owner, Technical Business Analyst, or data-focused delivery role.
  • Proven experience owning and managing backlogs within Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong SQL expertise, including the ability to write and interpret complex queries and independently interrogate data.
  • Experience working with data warehouses, analytical platforms, and data transformation processes.
  • Practical understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, lineage, and ownership.
  • Experience working closely with engineering and data teams in delivery-focused environments.
  • Exposure to tools and technologies such as Python, Apache Airflow, dbt, Spark, Databricks, or Git-based workflows would be advantageous.
  • Experience within financial services or investment management would be beneficial.

The Strengths You’ll Bring

  • Strong ownership and accountability for delivery outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • High attention to detail, particularly relating to data accuracy and backlog quality.
  • Ability to operate independently and proactively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to enable and support high-performing delivery teams.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, and execution capability.
  • A collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
