Test Automation Engineer

We are looking for a technically curious Test Automation Engineer to join our Nova Credit team and help ensure that the software we deliver is reliable, scalable and built with quality at its core. This is a strong opportunity for someone with a coding foundation, a passion for automation, and the confidence to take ownership of testing deliverables. You will work across regression, integration, and automation testing, with exposure to modern tools such as Playwright.

What will you do?

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will support testing activities across the software development lifecycle, with a strong focus on automation, regression, integration testing, and continuous improvement.

You wil:

• Create and maintain regression of test packs, including test data and test environments.
• Convert test scenarios and design test cases into automation scripts.
• Execute automated tests and support manual testing where required.
• Participate in integrated testing to validate readiness for production.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects to confirm resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and testers across the SDLC.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of automation practices, frameworks and team delivery.

Minimum Experience

• 2-3 years' experience in automation testing.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining automated test scripts for defined requirements.
• Experience with regression, integration, and automation testing.
• Experience working with test data, test environments, defect tracking, and retesting.
• Experience collaborating with developers, analysts, and testers across the SDLC.

Technical Expertise

• Playwright or transferable automation tools such as Selenium.
• JavaScript / Node.js for test automation.
• SQL fundamentals, including PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server.
• Test management, SQA practices, reporting, and tracking.
• Service stubbing / mocking using Node.js will be advantageous.
• Exposure to Kafka, event-driven architecture, AWS cloud services or credit / financial services environments will be advantageous.

Education (Minimum)

• National Diploma in Information Technology - Computer Science or Information Technology

Education (Ideal or Preferred)

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology - Computer Science or Information Technology
