To support the buying team in executing the product strategy for the Household category. The Trainee Buyer will assist in sourcing, pricing, and managing products to meet customer needs and drive commercial performance, while learning the full end-to-end buying process.

Responsibilities

Assist with product sourcing, range planning, and supplier communication

Analyse sales and performance data to support buying decisions

Manage product samples and coordinate product set-up with relevant teams

Ensure product information is accurate and up-to-date on systems

Monitor competitor activity and market trends

Collaborate with planning, supply chain, and marketing teams

Attend supplier meetings and support negotiations (as required)

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant diploma/degree (e.g. Retail Management, Business, or related field)
  • Interest in retail and product trends within the Household category
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and basic business systems

Competencies

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Attention to detail and good organisational abilities
  • Team player with good communication skill
