About the role:
As a Trainee Manager, your purpose is to learn all the ins and outs of managing a supermarket, its products and the employees who make the store a success. You'll learn how to provide leadership and direct the highest level of quality service by creating a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, while treating every customer and team member like family! Your goals should include learning about your secretingredient to building and embodying a positive store culture of trust through honesty, integrity, and respect. What you'll do:
Assist in the daily management of supermarket operations to ensure smooth and efficient store functioning. Support the development and coaching of team members to foster a motivated and high-performing workforce. Ensure compliance with company policies, hygiene, health, and safety standards at all times. Contribute to effective inventory control and loss prevention initiatives to sustain financial performance. Provide excellent customer service, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all shoppers. Participate in financial and administrative tasks, aiding in budgeting, reporting, and cost control. Promote a positive store culture based on trust, honesty, integrity, and respect. Support in implementing marketing and promotional activities to drive sales and customer engagement. Assist in resolving customer and employee concerns promptly and professionally. Learn and apply leadership principles to prepare for future managerial responsibilities.

What you bring:
Matric certificate or equivalent secondary education qualification is required. Previous experience in retail or customer service environments is advantageous. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members. Basic understanding of retail operations, including inventory management and loss prevention, is preferred. Demonstrated leadership potential with willingness to learn and develop management skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proactive problem-solving skills to address customer and employee concerns professionally. Good organisational skills and attention to detail to support administrative and financial tasks. Commitment to upholding company values of honesty, integrity, and respect to foster a positive workplace culture. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required in a retail environment.
