Job Description
Design and prototype user interfaces for websites and cross-platform applications (web, mobile, tablet).
Develop and maintain design systems, component libraries and style guides while ensuring consistent implementation of design standards across all digital channels.
Key responsibilities will include amongst others:
Digital Channels and Technology Management
- Maintain and improve day-to-day digital channel operations and functionality. Support technical changes for client-facing digital platforms and assess the impact of those changes on customer experience.
Customer Needs/Experience Research
- Lead customer research initiatives by collecting and analysing customer and market data to understand customer segments, trends, needs and expectations.
Design and Conceptualization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualise products and services, using data and insights to drive design decisions and innovative user experiences.
Customer Experiences Implementation
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement customer experience initiatives, tools and processes that improve customer engagement and satisfaction.
Customer Experience Mapping
- Lead customer journey mapping activities, identify critical experience gaps and develop roadmaps to address root causes and improve journeys.
Improvement/Innovation
- Identify shortcomings in processes, systems and procedures and drive improvements through established change management practices.
Product/Service Development
- Evaluate and validate proposed solutions while working within agile teams to deliver key aspects of the development programme.
Brand Positioning
- Support and contribute to brand positioning initiatives and digital brand consistency.
Personal Capability Building
- Maintain expertise in UX/UI practices, design tools, emerging technologies, accessibility standards and industry best practices through continuous learning.

Qualifications and Experience required:
- NQF Level 7 qualification (Degree, Advanced Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate) in Design, Human Computer Interaction, Multimedia, Information Systems or a related field.
- 6+ years general experience in UX/UI or digital design roles.
- 3+ years experience leading projects, initiatives or workstreams.
