Fedics in search for a Wardhostess who works individually on patient wards. The hostess will serve breakfast, lunch, supper and snacks in a very busy, fast paced environment. Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure patients have ice water available at all times. Keep urns full and switched on at all times.
• Serve patients tea/coffee and alternative snacks.
• Complete menu cards accurately according to each patient's choice.
• Return menu cards to the kitchen as soon as possible.
• Update diet lists before each meal service.
• Report diet alterations immediately.
• Transport trolleys between the kitchen and wards in an orderly manner and return them after service.
• Check that all trays are complete before: Loading them into the trolley.
• Serving them to patients.
• Ensure no incomplete trays are served.
• Remove meal trays immediately once patients have finished eating.
• Wash cutlery after every meal.
• Maintain strict control over ward cutlery.
• Serve cutlery in cutlery bags at all times.
• Lock away cutlery when not in use.
• Keep the ward kitchen neat and tidy at all times.
• Do not leave trays in the ward kitchen after meals.
• Return used trays to the kitchen immediately.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times.
• Wear full uniform and adhere to company standards.
• Provide private patients with: The morning newspaper of their choice.
• Refreshments for one direct family member visiting.
• Healthwise chocolate with evening tea or coffee.
• The option to order from the à la carte menu.

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to work in a pressurised environment.
• Good communication skills at all levels.
• Knowledge of hygiene and quality standards.
• Well-presented, neat, and professional.
• Motivated self-starter.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Flexible regarding working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Able to work in a 7-day operational environment.

Qualifications

• Matric
• Previous experience in a hospital environment would be be Advantageous.
