RCL FOODS is a deeply rooted South African food manufacturer producing brands like Yum Yum peanut butter, Nola mayonnaise, Ouma rusks, and Sellati sugar. We're seeking candidates for our Engineering Superintendent talent pipeline in Gauteng. The role involves managing engineering operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant production.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.)
- Advanced qualifications in FMCG operations or maintenance management (advantageous)
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in engineering roles within the FMCG sector, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership position

- Strong understanding of FMCG production environments, including packaging, processing, and food safety requirements (HACCP, GMP)
- Proficiency in engineering systems, automation, and PLCs
- Experience with maintenance software and Lean/Six Sigma/WCM methodologies (advantageous)
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and long-term solutions
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, maintenance personnel, and technical staff
- Optimize plant operations, equipment efficiency, and energy usage
- Manage capital projects, including new machinery installation, equipment upgrades, and plant expansions
- Develop and manage the engineering and maintenance department’s budget
- Ensure engineering solutions align with quality control standards and comply with safety and environmental regulations
- Maintain and implement food safety standards
