Support the delivery and integration of sustainability and ESG within a non-life insurance environment. This role contributes to embedding sustainable business practices by supporting regulatory compliance, climate risk management, while ensuring accurate reporting and audit-ready governance processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of ESG initiatives aligned with business strategy and insurance sector priorities.
  • Assist in coordinating sustainability projects and integration of ESG considerations across relevant business departments.
  • Track delivery against sustainability roadmaps.

2. ESG Data Management & Reporting

  • Collect, validate, and maintain ESG data.
  • Support preparation of Integrated reports, Sustainability/ESG disclosures and Internal EXCO and Board reports.
  • Ensure data integrity and audit readiness to support internal and external assurance processes.

3. Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Support compliance with relevant frameworks and regulations, including emerging climate-related disclosure requirements.
  • Assist with internal audits, risk and compliance reviews, and governance tracking.
  • Maintain structured documentation and evidence files to enable governance discipline of the relevant committees.
  • Design own monthly and quarterly schedule and assign work to relevant business departments ensuring all priority requirements are met.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to support embedding sustainability practices across the organization.
  • Assist with communication materials for employees, committees, and external stakeholders.

5. Research & Industry Insights

  • Conduct research on ESG trends, regulatory developments impacting sustainability and sustainability practices and disclosures.
  • Provide insights to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Commerce, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or related field.

Experience:

  • 0–2 years’ experience in sustainability, ESG, risk, compliance, or insurance-related environment.
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting, data analysis, or project coordination is advantageous.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of ESG principles, reporting frameworks and climate risk concepts in insurance.
  • Data analysis and reporting (Excel, PowerPoint; Power BI advantageous).
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities.

Behavioural Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on governance discipline.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables within strict reporting timelines.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset.

The Recruitment Process:

  • TA Interview: This will be a discussion with our Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist to give you an understanding of our business, our culture & values and more context on the role. It will also allow us the opportunity to get to know you more and ensure OMI can meet your career aspirations.
  • Panel Interview: This will be with 2 members of the Senior Leadership of the Hiring Team and 1 member of the HC Leadership Team.
  • Technical & Psychometric Assessments: These will depend on the role and will sometimes happen concurrently with Vetting through an external service provider & Internal Verification.
  • Final Feedback.
