Operations Manager: Corporate Money In

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Operations Manager to join our Corporate Administration and Servicing team. Lead the delivery of tactical business plans and operational strategies and drive execution through managers and their teams.

Key Responsibilities

Risk, Governance and Compliance

  • Management and oversight of the Money In and Section 14 functions
  • Accountability for governance and compliance at an operational level.
  • Implementation and management of business processes and frameworks in line with legislative rules.
  • Identification, reporting and tracking of risk items. Proposing mitigation and resolution options.
  • Reporting to Trustee Boards, Corporate Boards and Senior stakeholders.
  • Management of internal and external audits.

Operational Efficiency

  • Critically analyse and suggest improvements to the current technology used to support the team in enhancing the Employer and Member experience.
  • Analyse current workflows and processes and identify opportunities for efficiencies and automation.

Management Effectiveness

  • Track and report on key operational metrics to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage team leaders holding them accountable for service delivery.
  • Management of the end-to-end HR function.
  • Build talent pipeline through ongoing training and development of direct reports.
  • Set operational standards and best practice for internal environment.
  • Ensure teams operate at optimal capacity.

Relationship Building

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. IT, Corporate Distribution) to foster collaboration, better ways of work and improved customer outcomes.
  • Resolve complex issues and conflict through effective communication and negotiation skill.

Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification is preferable.
  • At least 5 years’ work experience in a Financial Services/Retirement Fund environment within a management or senior lead role.
  • Old Mutual SuperFund process, product and systems knowledge is preferable.
  • Knowledge of the Pension Funds Act, specifically Sections 13A and 14.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to manage multi-functional teams.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and derive insights.
  • Strong track record in managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyse and model financial data.
  • Strong report-writing skills.
  • Good understanding of managing processes within retirement fund operations.
